Here below is a link showing German military small arms of WWII. The Walter G43 as Kryten mentioned was simplified to opperate more reliably copying practical Russian SVT-40 engineering. The FG.42 (Fallschirmjägergewehr later model) used by German paratrooper must be one of the more unusual weapons deployed during the war. Again over engeneered but very accurate capable of sniping when not set to full-auto mode.
